Bonny Wood Green features another fresh blend of Renaissance works, international contemporary choral music, and two more cornerstones of the treble voice literature. Francis Poulenc’s Petites voix dates from 1936 — the year that his friend, Pierre-Octave Ferroud, was killed and that Poulenc turned seriously to choral writing. Rautavaara’s ‘Suite’ de Lorca has become one of the most widely performed of all Finnish choral works since its 1973 premiere. (It is an interesting coincidence that Ferroud and Lorca were killed just 2 days apart.)
